Mechanic - 3rd Shift - F&B Manufacturing
About The Position
The Mechanic is responsible for the operation and maintenance of production, material-handling, and support equipment to help ensure proper operation, maximize plant production, and minimize downtime. The position performs and documents troubleshooting, equipment removal and installation, disassembly, repair, and assembly across production, material-handling, waste, raw-product, and support systems. The mechanic follows work logs, work orders, and equipment manuals, maintains an orderly work area, operates a forklift safely, and performs assigned non-routine maintenance and emergency repairs. The role follows plant Good Manufacturing Practices and ensures the work area is secure. It requires effective communication with employees throughout the organization, particularly the shift supervisor, and interaction with vendors. The mechanic has no direct or indirect reports. The position can be backed up by another trained employee, other mechanics, or the maintenance supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to work any shift, overtime, and any or all days of the week according to plant needs.
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to use tools commonly used in the plant safely and skillfully in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Ability to use a stick welder, wire welder, TIG welder, plasma torch, and oxygen-acetylene torch.
- Ability to recognize and name stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to sharpen drill bits, chisels, and cutting tools.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; carry 25 pounds up and down 21 stairs; stand for eight hours per shift, excluding breaks and lunch; and safely lift and carry a 51-pound stepladder.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, and/or cold areas; stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders, and work in tight or awkward spaces for long periods.
- May be required to safely lift up to 100 pounds unassisted.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or mechanical certification preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a juice-processing environment preferred.
- Washington State Electrician Certification preferred.
Responsibilities

- Follow plant GMPs and ensure the work area is secure.
- Communicate effectively with employees across the organization, especially the shift supervisor, and interact with vendors.
