About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work at its Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) North in Huntsville, Alabama, an inert manufacturing facility that fabricates and assembles small, medium, and large case composite rocket motor hardware. The technician produces parts, components, and final assemblies through composite fabrication, compression molding, metal fabrication, modification, checkout, rework, quality testing, and assembly, using detailed work instructions and manufacturing or diagnostic equipment. The role focuses primarily on composite manufacturing, including supervised operation of filament winding machines, resin mixing and checks, preparing and maintaining towpreg winding cells, fabricating skirts, troubleshooting winding processes, preparing components for lay-up and cure, vacuum bagging, structural bonding, and building complex layups. The technician also operates various shop machinery and equipment, fabricates and assembles components, builds and stores tooling, insulates mandrels and composite cases, and casts, cures, and machines sand mandrels. The position may include providing on-the-job training and working with management and supervision to meet deadlines. Additional duties include routine maintenance and minor repairs, keeping equipment clean and orderly, performing intermediate-level quality checks, completing manufacturing records, supporting safety and 5S+1 standards, producing development hardware, troubleshooting production processes, and assisting with process improvements.
