About The Position

At Linetec, Mechanics use mechanical knowledge and experience with tools, equipment, and vehicles to perform work critical to the company’s operations. The position requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn new machines and standard processes, and a commitment to quality and safety. Mechanics may travel to job sites to make repairs and may perform administrative and lineman duties as required. A CDL is strongly preferred, or the employee must be able to acquire a CDL permit within 60 days of hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Meet the requirements for Mechanic Level I.
• Skilled in mechanical operations, including welding, vehicle repair, and small equipment repair.
• CDL strongly preferred, or ability to acquire a CDL permit within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to follow through on tasks.
• Customer service attitude.
• Excellent multitasking, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn standard processes and procedures.
• Desire to learn and commitment to quality work and safety.
• Fluent in English, as worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion drug screens.
• Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory pre-employment background check results.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold or obtain a DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic welding tasks.
• Repair, overhaul, and replace major truck and automobile components.
• Communicate with team members about broken equipment, needed repairs, timelines, and costs.
• Service equipment when it is returned from a job site.
• Make major and minor equipment repairs.
• Maintain repair log books.
• Complete required company training, including safety training.
• Perform administrative and lineman duties as required.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.
• Travel to job sites to make repairs when required.
