About The Position

As a Mechanic Technician, you will work under general supervision and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment. You will utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, vehicles, and systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Must have all required tools to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements of the job.

Requirements

  • 2 years as a mechanic technician working on heavy equipment/trucks or similar role, preferably in a diesel, automotive, construction, or industrial setting
  • 2 years inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
  • Valid Driver's License Upon Hire
  • Must have all required tools to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Certification from a technical school or vocational training program in automotive technology or a related field
  • Certificate in electrical diagnostics
  • Applicable Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members.
  • Demonstrate high quality work, performed with limited repeat repairs and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Demonstrate ability to aid and train other technicians in repairs and WM procedures and policies.
  • Use time effectively; prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks.
  • Record parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings utilizing fleet maintenance software program.
  • Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality and alignment.
  • Adjust settings, calibrate sensors, and perform fine-tuning as necessary to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical problems and malfunctions in vehicles, engines, and equipment.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues and determine the most effective repair solutions.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines to ensure quality repairs and optimal performance.
  • Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and shop facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, mechanics, and supervisors to troubleshoot complex issues and share knowledge and expertise.
  • Offer technical guidance and assistance to junior staff members as needed.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs, requisition new parts, and communicate immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within SRTs.
  • Perform service calls and appropriate emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Complete all assigned mandatory online and in class training modules.
