Step into a hands-on leadership position as the Mechanic Supervisor with the Department of Human Services (DHS) at the Selinsgrove Center. You will oversee vehicle maintenance, direct preventive care, and support staff who keep equipment running at peak performance. This position oversees the Transportation and Groundskeeping Department by supervising staff, managing vehicle maintenance, and supporting daily operations. The role ensures that vehicles, buses, trucks, and equipment are serviced properly and meet required standards.

Requirements

• Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of an active Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsements or equivalent.
• Possession of an active Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanics, equipment operators, garage workers, and groundskeeping personnel
• Implement schedule changes, address emergencies, and apply contract provisions for work assignments
• Conduct road tests to diagnose defects and confirm the quality of repairs
• Direct and perform preventive care on vehicles, equipment, and parts
• Perform official state inspections, complete required records, and ensure compliance with specifications
• Investigate accidents involving vehicles or equipment and prepare detailed reports
