Requirements
- Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
- Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Complete new admission and annual evaluations, including physician ordered nutritional consults
- Provide nutrition guidance and make recommendations to physicians to support individual health needs
- Maintain current diet records and document nutritional actions in charts, files, and computerized systems
- Use nutritional software to manage diet consistency, menu changes, and food modifications for therapeutic needs
- Assess and update snack, nourishment, condiment, fruit, and vegetable schedules for living areas
- Provide instructions and training to staff and cooks on therapeutic diet preparation, participate in Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings, and contribute to dysphagia management through committee involvement
