Requirements

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to ensure that services follow professional standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assign, supervise, and support nursing staff in providing health services and maintaining a therapeutic environment
  • Monitor treatment plans, review clinical information, and participate in interdisciplinary activities to support individual care needs
  • Ensure nursing practices meet facility policies, safety rules, and regulations
  • Provide instruction to nursing staff regarding clinical procedures, infection control, and health care standards
  • Audit nursing records, assess clinical notes, and track follow-up actions to maintain accurate documentation
