About The Position

Under general supervision, this position will perform skilled mechanical duties involved in operating, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing malfunctions, and accomplishing preventative and heavy maintenance repairs on all components of a compressor station. This includes conducting engine and compressor overhaul maintenance tasks, troubleshooting low-voltage DC circuits and end devices, and ensuring field equipment operates under current emissions guidelines and standards. The role requires accurately diagnosing failures, determining necessary repairs efficiently, and submitting accurate paperwork daily. The mechanic will monitor operating parameters, make adjustments, report unusual conditions, and make recommendations for equipment lifecycle improvements. Responsibilities include performing duties during call-outs and off-hours for high-priority work and emergencies, and properly communicating equipment outages to the Midstream Control Room.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience performing mechanical maintenance on rotating equipment.
  • At least five (5) years of experience of industrial mechanical experience, with emphasis on large and small compressors and engines, such as Caterpillar and/or Waukesha engines, and Ariel reciprocating compressors.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with Vapor Recovery Units (VRU) and glycol and/or desiccant dehydration units.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and electric starters, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition systems, and other compression related anatomy.
  • Understand the basic operations of production, such as, separators, dehydration units, etc.
  • Prior experience with Waukesha and Caterpillar natural gas engines, as well as high speed reciprocating compressor frames such as Ariel or Gemini.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment, emphasis on CAT ET/SIS and Waukesha ESP software systems.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
  • Ability to apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills. Able to set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Perform skilled mechanical duties on compressor station components, including operation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Conduct engine and compressor overhaul maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot low-voltage DC circuits and end devices.
  • Ensure field equipment operates under current emissions guidelines and standards.
  • Accurately diagnose failures or problems and determine the extent of necessary repairs in a time-efficient manner.
  • Submit accurate work orders, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Monitor operating parameters on equipment, make adjustments, and report unusual conditions.
  • Make recommendations to improve equipment lifecycle and operations.
  • Perform responsibilities during call-outs and off hours for high-priority work and emergencies.
  • Properly communicate all equipment outages to the Midstream Control Room and respond to unit outage notifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
