About The Position

Performs all Industrial Drive product troubleshooting and repair tasks in Vernon Hills. Complete repair and remanufacture of Industrial and Rail units including disassembly, inspection, parts ordering, remanufacturing and packaging for completed units. Clean, sandblast and or paint products or parts. Create and modify work instructions for Rail and Industrial products through product specific technical manuals, updated OEE standards and remanufacturing industry techniques. 5s and LEAN project participation for Industrial and Rail departments. Perform troubleshooting (verbal or in person) with customers. Provide product training to new customers (in house or field). May provide field service support for all Industrial Drive products including product operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Perform pre-delivery/engineering inspections (when required). Actively participate in warranty determination process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication skills, PC skills, and ERP experience required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Computer systems and skills required.
  • Knowledge of hand and pneumatic tools required.
  • Extensive mechanical background and good communication skills (verbal & written) required.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous machine tool experience (grinder, lathe, vertical mill) preferred.
  • Knowledge of ZF Industrial and Rail products preferred.
  • Knowledge of high voltage automotive or the ability to learn through ZF training preferred.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Documentation skills preferred.
