About The Position
Colville, Inc. is hiring a skilled Mechanic III / Shop Foreman to lead our Fairbanks shop. This is a permanent, non-rotational position for an experienced diesel or heavy equipment mechanic who takes pride in quality work and enjoys mentoring others. The role emphasizes leadership and adherence to core values of Family, Safety, and Agility.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a shop environment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- ASE Certifications or diesel technology training
- Experience with Class 8 trucks and mixed fleets
- Leadership or management experience
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and major repairs on light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance and DOT annual inspections
- Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
- Rebuild engines, transmissions, and differentials
- Use diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Cummins Insight, Davies, and ESA
- Support daily shop workflow, quality control, and documentation
- Mentor mechanics and shop personnel
- Assist with fabrication and welding as needed
- Maintain safe and organized shop operations
