About The Position

Empower Rental Group is hiring a Level 3 Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for its Panama City, Florida store. The mechanic prepares rental equipment for delivery by making needed modifications and repairs and cleaning units. The role also repairs and cleans equipment returned from customer sites, performs assigned service calls at customer sites, carries out preventive maintenance, and helps with general yard and shop work. The mechanic completes work under supervision and supports safe, high-quality, efficient operations and customer service.

Requirements

• Over 3–5 years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles per insurance requirements may be required depending on branch needs.
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Average computer skills.
• Must have own basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with loading and unloading fleet orders.
• Make notes on rental tags and answer customer questions as applicable.
• Assist other mechanics with tasks such as lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Clean the yard and shop area.
• May perform repairs on the small fleet.
• Diagnose standard issues with heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using a computer analyzer and traditional troubleshooting methods.
• Complete standard and complex repairs to the fleet.
• Complete inspections.
• Perform work with supervision.
• Complete preventive maintenance, including changing filters, checking fluids, and filling tires.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Help drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
• Complete repairs on company vehicles.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Prepare rental equipment for delivery, including appropriate modifications, repairs, and cleaning.
• Repair and clean equipment returned from customer sites.
• Complete assigned service calls for equipment at customer sites.
• Complete general yard work, such as cleaning or preparing work areas.
• Provide customer support and service during field visits.
• Complete rental equipment preparation by the delivery date, maintain a ready line, and achieve quality standards.
