About The Position

Responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing piping systems and equipment. Pipefitters work from drawings, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of piping systems and equipment. They set up system routes, create route openings, install hangers at the proper pitch and elevation, and determine and install components such as risers, branch outlets, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators to ensure proper system operation. They also plan and complete the routing and placement of systems leading to equipment, position equipment at the proper elevations and points in systems, and join, seal, and test systems and equipment for proper pressure, leak-free joints, and operation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of additional education and/or related experience; alternatively, an apprentice graduate or associate degree in a relevant discipline and one year of related experience.
May require certification.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
