Meat & Seafood Team Member - Plum Market
About The Position
The Meat & Seafood Team Member supports daily operations in Plum Market’s Meat & Seafood department. The role helps maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing cases, assists with product preparation, and delivers exceptional retail customer service. Team Members help ensure proper product rotation, storage, and sanitation while working with department leadership and fellow Team Members to uphold quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, interested in learning about meat and seafood, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment. They take pride in keeping work areas clean, fresh, and organized, contribute to a respectful and collaborative team, and are open to feedback and learning.
Requirements
- Interest in or experience working with meat and/or seafood products.
- Basic understanding of food safety and handling standards.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete tasks independently, and communicate clearly.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to four hours without a break.
- Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and push or pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service to all Customers.
- Assist with cutting, wrapping, labeling, and displaying meat and seafood products under supervision.
- Stock, rotate, and organize products to maintain freshness and reduce shrink.
- Maintain clean and sanitary workspaces, preparation areas, and service counters.
- Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with unloading, storing, and organizing deliveries.
- Help build and maintain engaging, on-brand displays for promotions and seasonal sets.
- Work collaboratively with other Team Members and department leadership.
- Uphold Plum Market policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.
