Produce Team Member - Plum Market
About The Position
The Produce Team Member supports daily operations of the Produce Department by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining fresh, full, and visually appealing displays. The role stocks, rotates, and merchandises produce while upholding quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards. Produce Team Members contribute to a positive team environment and help create a memorable shopping experience for every Customer. The ideal candidate is passionate about fresh, natural, organic, and local produce; provides outstanding retail customer service; and is detail-oriented, self-motivated, dependable, and efficient in a fast-paced setting. They value teamwork, take pride in clean and well-stocked displays, and are eager to learn and improve.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of produce and willingness to learn about product rotation, seasonality, and quality control.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
- Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push or pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to Customers in the Produce Department.
- Stock and rotate produce according to Plum Market freshness and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate signage and pricing and ensure compliance with COOL (Country of Origin Labeling) requirements.
- Build and maintain attractive, organized displays and ensure proper fronting.
- Remove damaged or unsellable items and follow shrink and waste procedures.
- Keep the department and backstock areas clean, organized, and food-safe.
- Follow sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety protocols.
- Assist with backstock, inventory, and seasonal resets as directed.
- Collaborate with fellow Team Members and leadership to meet department goals.
- Uphold Plum Market policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
