Meat & Seafood Clerk - Plum Market
About The Position
The Meat & Seafood Team Member supports the daily operations of Plum Market’s Meat & Seafood department. The role maintains full, fresh, visually appealing cases, assists with product preparation, and provides exceptional retail Customer Service. Team Members help ensure proper product rotation, storage, and sanitation while working with department leadership and fellow Team Members to uphold quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, interested in learning about meat and seafood, and committed to helpful Customer Service. They are detail-oriented, reliable, comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment, and take pride in keeping the department clean, fresh, and organized. Teamwork, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn are valued.
Requirements
- An interest in or experience working with meat and/or seafood products.
- Basic understanding of food safety and handling standards.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete tasks independently, and communicate clearly.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
- Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push or pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service to all Customers.
- Assist with cutting, wrapping, labeling, and displaying meat and seafood products under supervision.
- Stock, rotate, and organize products to ensure freshness and reduce shrink.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, prep areas, and service counters.
- Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with unloading, storing, and organizing deliveries.
- Help build and maintain engaging, on-brand displays for promotions and seasonal sets.
- Work collaboratively with other Team Members and department leadership.
- Uphold Plum Market policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.
