About The Position

The Meat Cutter performs general product preparation, cleanup, and stocking in the Meat department while providing customer service. The role includes preparing and processing meat, maintaining product quality and safe displays, keeping department areas and equipment clean and organized, and supporting store sales and marketing programs. The employee is expected to demonstrate respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety, and to interact professionally with customers and fellow associates.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, and serve meat products in accordance with company policies.
Accurately update and maintain department temperature logs.
Stock and display meat items safely and according to company standards.
Check product quality and ensure products are rotated properly and remain fresh.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain good customer and associate relations and communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
Unload trucks, sort orders, and place products in the proper cooler location.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies and procedures.
Make a friendly impression on customers, wait on customers promptly and cheerfully, greet them, and provide good-quality foods.
Increase store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Follow company policies and procedures, particularly those concerning a work environment free from unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
