About The Position

The Meat Cutter performs general product preparation, cleanup, and stock work in the Meat department while providing customer service. The role includes preparing, processing, merchandising, and selling meat products in accordance with company policies and standards. The employee is expected to demonstrate respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, and serve meat products in accordance with company policies.
Accurately update and maintain department temperature logs.
Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
Check product quality and ensure products are rotated properly and remain fresh.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Build good customer and associate relations and communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
Unload trucks, sort orders, and place products in the proper cooler location.
Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
Make a friendly impression on customers; promptly and cheerfully serve customers at the counter, greet them, and provide quality foods.
Support store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Follow company policies and procedures, especially those related to maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Act with honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues.
