About The Position

Perform general product preparation, cleanup, and stocking in the Meat department while providing customer service. The role includes preparing and handling meat products, maintaining department cleanliness and food safety, stocking and displaying products, and assisting customers. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, and serve meat products in accordance with company policies.
Accurately update and maintain department temperature logs.
Stock and display meat items safely and according to company standards.
Check product quality and ensure items are properly rotated and fresh.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Build good customer and associate relations and communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
Unload trucks, sort orders, and place products in the proper cooler locations.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies and procedures.
Make a friendly impression on customers; promptly and cheerfully serve counter customers, greet them, and provide quality foods.
Increase store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
Remain prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Follow company policies and procedures, particularly those concerning a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Act honestly and with integrity when handling customer and business information.
