About The Position

Perform general product preparation, cleanup, and stock work in the Meat department while providing customer service. The role includes preparing, processing, packaging, merchandising, and selling meat products; maintaining product quality and department cleanliness; and following company and health department policies and procedures. The employee is expected to demonstrate respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety, and to provide courteous, professional service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, and serve meat products in accordance with company policies.
Accurately update and maintain department temperature logs.
Stock and display meat items safely and according to company standards.
Check product quality and ensure products are fresh and properly rotated.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain good customer and associate relations and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
Unload trucks, sort orders, and place products in the proper cooler locations.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies and procedures.
Greet customers, serve them promptly and cheerfully, and provide good-quality foods.
Support store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Follow company policies and procedures, including those intended to maintain a work environment free from unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
