About The Position

The Meat Associate works independently to prepare, package, display, and stock meat products while supporting the store’s financial interests. The role includes meeting company expectations for guest experience and following safety and food-safety guidelines. Associates may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer-experience needs.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce meat products according to the production planner.
Package and label meat products according to the program plan.
Merchandise meat products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with meat products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Notify the Meat Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
Follow food-safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest-experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer-experience needs.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
