About The Position

Barbacks support bartenders by helping open and close the bar and keeping supplies, equipment, and the bar area ready throughout each shift. They stock liquor, beer, spirits, mixers, garnishes, and ice; keep bartending tools and glasses clean and properly positioned; assist with inventory; and help maintain a clean, orderly environment. Barbacks may prepare and serve drinks as needed, bus tables and the bar, clean up spills, and assist customers. Employees may also be asked to perform duties beyond their regular responsibilities as business needs require.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Non-Gaming Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License.
Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
Must obtain and maintain Tips MAST Certification.
Provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment, including under pressure.
Be detail-oriented, organized, and cleanly.
Maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with other staff.
Maintain work quality while unsupervised.
Stand for long periods and safely lift and maneuver heavy trays of food when necessary.
Follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
Keep up with a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Have excellent oral communication, listening, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in bar backing or bussing preferred.

Responsibilities

Organize supplies and support bar staff to help service run smoothly.
Perform tasks that support bartenders and other staff members.
Prepare and serve drinks as needed.
Restock liquor, mixers, and garnishes behind the bar.
Clear empty cups and trash from the bar top and tables.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the bar, including wiping surfaces, arranging chairs and stools, and organizing menus and table items.
Clean up spills and other customer accidents as needed.
Keep bartending stations supplied with clean rags.
Clean front-of-house cups and dishes according to dishwashing procedures.
Keep the front of house supplied with clean glasses.
Check and restock ice bins.
Assist bartenders with back-of-house liquor inventory.
Follow opening, closing, and key-holding procedures during each shift.
Promote customer satisfaction by smiling and answering customer questions.
Perform other duties as required by management.
