The Measurement & Instrumentation Technician supports the safe, reliable, and accurate operation of natural gas measurement and control systems. The role maintains and operates equipment such as gas meters, chromatographs, analyzers, odorization systems, regulators, valves, RTU and SCADA systems, communications equipment, heaters, and electrical equipment. Responsibilities and equipment complexity increase across the three levels, with senior-level technicians also supporting system integration and overall system reliability. Technicians are expected to meet operational needs while complying with company standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Technicians install, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair measurement, control, communication, gate station, and—in the Tech II and III roles—CNG equipment. They perform preventive and emergency maintenance, document work and calibration, support facility construction and modifications, coordinate with company personnel and external parties, and ensure equipment and facilities meet applicable codes and procedures. Tech III technicians also maintain gas quality equipment and guide junior technicians and outside contractors. The position interfaces with team members and management at all levels, as well as contractors, customers, consultants, government and regulatory agencies, and vendors. It includes an incident response assignment, with role-related training and possible participation in emergency drills or exercises. The work involves lifting, frequent driving, walking and standing, exposure to outdoor and industrial conditions, on-call duties, a rotating schedule with other technicians, and occasional overnight travel or work outside the normal area. A company vehicle is operated and maintained as part of the role.
