MEASURE TECHNICIAN
About The Position
The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) works independently in a traveling field role supporting The Home Depot’s Field Services Organization. The role provides professional customer service and conducts in-home measure appointments, builds and maintains customer relationships, supports sales and product inquiries, takes measurements, and coordinates installations. The technician delivers a positive customer experience through accurate measurements and calculations, quote review, and presentation. The position primarily involves travel to appointments within a defined geographical area, with occasional service support to company locations. Work is completed using company-issued devices, with a focus on customer service, measurement accuracy and timeliness, and sales productivity. This is a part-time, field-based role supporting customers in Pocatello, Idaho, and surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation required.
- At least 1 year of previous related work experience.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- No previous leadership experience required.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments efficiently and accurately.
- Ask customers open-ended questions and listen to their project and product needs.
- Describe merchandise features and benefits and explain the steps involved in completing projects.
- Demonstrate product and services knowledge when answering customer questions.
- Identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs.
- Cooperate with Associates, Supervisors, and Managers to complete other assigned work activities.
- Follow all policies and procedures and adhere to the work schedule.
