About The Position

The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) works independently in a traveling field role supporting The Home Depot’s Field Services Organization. The role provides professional customer service that meets or exceeds company standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities include in-home measure appointments, building and maintaining customer relationships, supporting sales and product inquiries, taking measurements, and coordinating installations within the Measurement Services center Field Services Organization. The technician provides a positive customer experience through accurate measurements and calculations, and quote review and presentation. The position primarily involves traveling to appointments within a defined geographical area, with occasional support for company locations. Work is completed using company-issued devices, with a focus on customer service, measurement accuracy and timeliness, and sales productivity.

This part-time, field-based role supports customers in Missoula, Montana, and surrounding areas. Travel between locations is required. The position reports to the Assistant Market Manager and has no direct reports.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation.
• At least 1 year of previous related work experience.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Must be able to continuously stand or walk, or regularly lift, handle, or carry materials or equipment weighing 8–20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments efficiently and accurately.
• Cooperate with associates, supervisors, and managers to complete other assigned work activities.
• Follow company policies and procedures and adhere to the work schedule.
• Ask customers open-ended questions and listen to their project and product needs.
• Describe merchandise features and benefits, as well as the steps involved in completing projects.
• Demonstrate product and service knowledge when answering customer questions.
• Identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs.
• Perform in-home measurements, calculations, and quote review and presentation, and coordinate installations.
