PIMCO is recognized as an innovator, industry thought leader, and trusted advisor. The 2027 MBA Summer Intern – Credit Research Analyst position is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. This internship is a 10-week program running from early June to mid-August, requiring full availability for the duration. Interns will gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, and join in the Global Month of Volunteering. The program includes educational, networking, and social events, along with guidance and mentorship from supervisors, peer mentors, and senior leaders. Formal reviews occur mid- and end-of-summer. Requirements

  • Pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position.
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Must be willing to work in Newport Beach, CA.
  • A 1–2-page write-up of an original and independent investment recommendation that can target either debt or equity securities.
  • Resume and cover letter submitted via the PIMCO Careers portal.
  • Name included in the file title and in the header on each page of the write-up.
  • Write-up combined with resume pdf file for submission.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate various industries and companies to make investment recommendations to PIMCO’s portfolio managers group.
  • Provide analytical support for the firm’s portfolio managers by highlighting risks.
  • Support seasoned credit analysts in their coverage responsibilities.
  • Learn about various industries and day-to-day responsibilities within Credit Research.
  • Participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering.
  • Participate in cross-divisional education, networking & social events.
