Vertex is seeking a strategic, analytically rigorous, and innovative MBA summer associate intern to help measure and increase the impact of Medical Affairs. The intern will establish measures and KPIs for Medical-led activities—including publications, congress presence, digital education, and field medical education—and use advanced analytics and AI to generate actionable insights and inform decisions. The role calls for combining business judgment with hands-on quantitative analysis, translating ambiguous questions into analytical approaches, and communicating findings to senior leaders and non-technical audiences. The position is within Medical Information, Technology and Innovation (MITI), which leads technological advancement and innovation for Vertex’s Medical Affairs teams. MITI advances internal capabilities and efficiency and supports external excellence in interactions with healthcare providers. The team applies data, technology, advanced analytics, and AI to improve business processes, strengthen scientific exchange, and increase Medical Affairs impact. This is a 9- to 10-week, hands-on MBA internship centered on a business-critical project. The intern will evaluate scientific communication, identify opportunities to increase impact, work with analytical tools and diverse datasets, learn how Medical Affairs operates across Insights Generation, Evidence Generation, and Scientific Communication, and create and present an executive-ready recommendation presentation to senior leadership. The program also includes industry and career-development programming, such as the “Lunch and Learn” speaker series. The role is hybrid-eligible or on-site eligible. Hybrid employees may work remotely up to two days per week; on-site employees work five days per week on-site, with ad hoc flexibility. Flex status is subject to Vertex policy and may change.
