Information Technology -Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Westlake Chemical’s Summer 2027 Information Technology Internship is designed to provide an information technology student with real-life work experience and training in the day-to-day activities of plant manufacturing. The internship is part of the company’s college recruiting strategy to attract and retain qualified, high-performing talent for early-career opportunities at plant locations. Interns work on assigned projects under close supervision, observe department activities, assist with daily tasks, participate in safety and environmental programs, maintain a work and activity journal, and present to the management team.
Requirements
- Must have completed the second year of college.
- Must be majoring in Information Technology.
- Must be an active student.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Work on assigned projects under the close supervision of a mentor or supervisor.
- Observe activities of the assigned department or unit.
- Assist the mentor or supervisor with day-to-day tasks.
- Actively participate in complex safety and environmental programs.
- Maintain an intern work and activity journal.
- Give a presentation to the management team.
