About The Position

Under immediate supervision, the Information Technology Intern represents Stifel IT’s infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and customer support teams by performing complex and confidential duties. The intern may work with teams such as IT Service Desk, Endpoint Computing, IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Mobile, contributing to business-supporting projects and developing professionally. The role provides exposure to Stifel’s business models through the work of its IT support teams.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills, using logic, reasoning, and data to identify complex relationships and research and discuss recommended uses.
• Ability to research a problem from beginning to end and create detailed documentation.
• Basic understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts.
• Ability to combine information to form general rules or conclusions.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or problem approaches.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office productivity technology.
• Strong knowledge of iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of macOS.

Nice To Haves

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business, with at least one year of college completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work with and assist Stifel IT professionals in their daily duties to develop an understanding of Stifel’s business models through the work of IT support teams.
• Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects.
• Follow standards and practices established by IT Service Desk management or senior team members.
• Assist in creating and maintaining IT operational workflows, knowledge documents, and communications to IT and Stifel employees.
• Assist in preparing reports.
• Research problems from beginning to end and create detailed documentation.
