About The Position

The role involves delivering focused one-to-one and small-group Maths intervention sessions across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE Mathematics examinations. The Maths Academic Mentor will use formative assessment to identify gaps in understanding and adapt sessions accordingly, maintain clear records of pupil progress, and feed back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Maths. Building consistent, motivating relationships with pupils to develop their confidence and resilience in Mathematics is also a key part of the role.
Requirements
- Hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in Mathematics, a STEM subject, or a numerate discipline.
- Previous child-centred experience is highly valued.
- Proactive, dependable, and enthusiastic Maths Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed in Maths.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not offered.
Responsibilities
