About The Position

This course provides an advanced practical and theoretical overview to teaching mathematics at the intermediate level, with an intentional focus on grades 9 and 10 mathematics teaching. The course will examine the Ontario mathematics curriculum and explore approaches to problem solving; teaching; attitudes toward teaching and learning mathematics; professional leadership, and equity and inclusion. Successful candidate will work with the course lead in order to provide consistency across sections.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education or related discipline
  • Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification
  • K – 12 teaching experience in mathematics
  • Education or related content area
  • Mathematics education

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in education or related discipline
  • Post-secondary teaching experience in teacher education
  • Teaching mathematics in Ontario schools at the intermediate level
  • School leadership experience in mathematics education
