About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach the Mathematics for Business course (ADM1305A) during the Fall 2026 academic period at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. The course covers fundamental mathematical skills for business problem-solving and decision-making, including mathematical models, equation-solving techniques, differential and integral calculus, exponential and partial derivatives, and their applications in economic functions. The teaching mode will be in-person.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree (PhD preferred) with a specialization directly related to mathematical or quantitative modeling and their applications.
  • Thorough academic and teaching experience in the topics of the course (functions, sequences, series, calculus, differential equations, algebra, etc.).
  • Familiarity with applications of quantitative approaches to management.
  • Pertinent teaching experience in similar learning environments using business contextualization, cases, or examples.
  • Knowledge and first-hand experience of quantitative trends in key organizational and managerial functions such as Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Operations, etc. (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Mathematics for Business course (ADM1305A).

  • Cover topics including mathematical models, equation-solving techniques, differential and integral calculus, exponential and partial derivatives, and their applications in economic functions.
  • Employ business contextualization, cases, or examples in teaching.
  • Potentially adapt teaching methods due to health measures or other reasons.
