About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center with more than 1,000 locations that provides personalized tutoring to K–12 students so they can catch up, keep up, and get ahead. Math Tutors teach small groups of up to four students using the Socratic method and ready-made lessons. No lesson planning or preparation is required because the Curriculum Team develops the lessons. The role includes paid training and may offer a path to becoming a Lead Instructor or moving into a full-time role.
Requirements
- Strong math skills through Algebra I.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available at least two weekday afternoons.
Nice To Haves
- Geometry or higher-level math skills are preferred.
- Prior experience is not required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Teach math from Kindergarten through Pre-Calculus, as well as SAT and ACT material.
- Make math engaging using real-world examples.
- Track student progress.
- Team-teach with the Center Director.
