Math Tutor - Paid Training and Flexible PM Shifts
About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center with more than 1,000 locations that provides personalized tutoring to K–12 students. Math Tutors help students catch up, keep up, and get ahead by teaching ready-made lessons using the Socratic method. Tutors work with up to four students at a time and teach topics ranging from kindergarten math through Pre-Calculus, as well as SAT/ACT preparation. The role includes paid training, requires no lesson planning, and offers a path to Lead Instructor or full-time work. Shifts are flexible afternoon shifts lasting 3–4 hours, on at least two weekdays.
Requirements
- Strong math skills through Algebra I.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available at least two weekday afternoons.
Nice To Haves
- Geometry or higher-level math skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach math from kindergarten through Pre-Calculus, as well as SAT/ACT content.
- Make math engaging for up to four students at a time using the Socratic method and ready-made lessons.
- Motivate students using real-world examples and track their progress.
- Team-teach with the Center Director.
