About The Position

Requirements

Valid Florida Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate with Mathematics, Elementary Education, or a related certification appropriate for elementary instruction.
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
Experience teaching elementary-aged students.
Knowledge of Florida's B.E.S.T. Mathematics Standards.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use student assessment data to guide instruction.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team.
Successful Level II Background Screening.
Completion of required DCF Child Care Training (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Nice To Haves

Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL).
Experience teaching mathematics intervention or enrichment.
Experience working in after-school, summer, or expanded learning programs.
Knowledge of hands-on mathematics instruction and STEM integration.
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging project-based mathematics instruction aligned with Florida's B.E.S.T. Mathematics Standards.
Facilitate small-group and whole-group math instruction that supports diverse learning needs.
Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of individual students.
Teach mathematical concepts through hands-on investigations, collaborative projects, and real-world problem-solving activities.
Foster mathematical reasoning, computational fluency, and critical thinking skills.
Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and confidence in mathematics.
Prepare engaging daily lesson plans and instructional materials.
Incorporate educational technology, manipulatives, and interactive learning strategies into instruction.
Support family engagement events, STEM activities, and academic showcases.
Maintain instructional materials and classroom organization.
Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Big Ideas Educational Services Staff Handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program.
