About The Position

Diamond Grove Center is searching for an experienced Math Teacher for a full-time, salaried position, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The role involves implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements, with a focus on creating a trusting relationship with students. Diamond Grove Center is an 85-bed behavioral psychiatric hospital in Louisville, Mississippi, providing inpatient acute care and residential treatment for children and adolescents. Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the subject area to be taught (Special Education)
• Possession of a valid MS “A” teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught as required by the Department of Education
• Agree to obtain the EmD Certification within one year from hired date
• Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Nice To Haves

• Masters preferred from an accredited four-year college or university in the subject area to be taught (Special Education)

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction using Edgenuity Courseware and MyPath
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor during tense situations
• Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities
• Provide targeted interventions designed by Edgenuity
• Write Individualized Education Plans and Service Plans
• Document student behavior on Q-15 Sheets
• Maintain a safe learning environment
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
