About The Position

This is a part-time (.5 FTE) Academic Support Teacher position at Chinook Trail Middle School. The role involves designing and delivering learning experiences for students, utilizing evidence-based instructional practices and technology. The teacher will participate in a community of learning, continuously evaluate student progress, and collaborate to improve learning opportunities. The position requires adherence to Colorado Academic Standards, development of engaging lessons, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. The teacher will work collaboratively with families, assess student learning using various methods, integrate technology, and establish high expectations for critical thinking and problem-solving. Professional conduct, ethical behavior, and leadership are expected. The teacher will also manage materials, supervise educational support staff and volunteers, and respond to safety/crisis situations. This role requires effective conflict resolution and reflection on professional practice to enhance teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)
  • Meets subject, grade level, and/or content area qualifications consistent with Colorado Department of Education and Academy District 20 requirements
  • Academy District 20, Teacher License: Initial - Colorado Department of Education
  • Teacher License: Professional - Colorado Department of Education

  • The teacher frequently is required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Typical demands require staff to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and may be higher for some assignments depending on position and student need; climb stairs, ladders, and/or stools; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer keyboards; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects; and physically restrain students when necessary.
  • The staff member may be required to analyze, communicate, compare, compile, compute, coordinate, copy, evaluate, instruct, negotiate, synthesize, reason, and use interpersonal skills.
