About The Position

Nelson American Indian College, a teaching site of Nelson University, is seeking an Adjunct Professor for Math/Statistics. This position focuses on Business and Social Science Statistical models, College Algebra, and College Math. As an Assemblies of God institution, applicants must align with the university's evangelical Christian mission and subscribe to a statement of faith. Faculty are expected to deliver a curriculum that is current, aligns with Assemblies of God doctrine, and integrates biblical principles across all disciplines.

Requirements

Academic qualifications commensurate with accreditation criteria.
Established teaching abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of subject area.
Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, administration, and students.
Adaptability to change and innovation.
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in math or a math/statistical analysis-related field, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 hours in math or statistics.
Ability to effectively communicate across diverse populations in verbal and written expression.
Personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission.
Active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach courses as assigned by the Dean, which may include day, evening, or Saturday classes.
Prepare syllabi according to the institutional model.
Initiate textbook selection in a timely manner.
Oversee quality educational experiences for students.
Produce evaluations and scores of student performance via the learning management system.
Submit final grades according to the posted schedule.
Provide 30 minutes of availability per week per course for student consultations.
Familiarize themselves with the University’s Institutional Policy Manual.
Wear professional attire during class and begin and end each class on time.
Carry out instructional and spiritual formation activities with students and staff in accordance with University policies and practices.
Connect and communicate with Department Chairs on a regular basis.
Attend department meetings (invited, not required).
Attend Faculty In-Service meetings (encouraged, not required).
Participate in commencement ceremonies (encouraged, not required).
