About The Position

Minnesota Connections Academy (MNCA) is seeking a Math Interventionist to provide assistance to K-12 students at risk of failing courses. This role involves analyzing data, working with individual students or small groups, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and learning coaches. The position requires travel throughout the state to meet with students, parents, and learning coaches, as well as virtual or in-person meetings. The Math Interventionist will play a crucial role in identifying at-risk students, developing and implementing intervention strategies, and creating individual achievement plans to support academic and post-secondary goals. Training for parents of at-risk students and connecting families with social agencies are also key responsibilities. The role requires the use of a personal electronic device and an email address.

Responsibilities

Identify at-risk students based on student grades and test scores that are below proficiency level, and could include: State Standardized Tests, Attendance records, discipline records, communication logs, RTI meeting minutes, grade retention records, and transcripts.
Proctor school-administered benchmark and diagnostic tests as needed.
Develop and implement individual intervention strategies to increase the likelihood that these students will stay in school, move on to each grade, and graduate on time.
Work with students to develop an individual achievement plan to include the best program to meet academic and post-secondary goals.
Provide training to parents of students identified as being at risk of not passing grades or graduating.
Identify and link area social agencies with youth at risk of not passing and their parents/guardians.
Other duties as assigned.
