About The Position

District Medical Group (DMG) is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join their team at Valleywise Health Medical Center (VHMC) in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a consultation-focused MFM practice, offering specialized care without delivery responsibilities. Physicians will focus on high-risk obstetric consultation, advanced ultrasound, prenatal diagnostics, and multidisciplinary care. VHMC serves a diverse and medically complex patient population as the safety-net hospital for Maricopa County. The role involves caring for patients in clinic and hospital settings, participating in shared home call coverage, and engaging in comprehensive high-risk obstetric services. The position also offers significant opportunities for teaching and mentoring through academic involvement with the Creighton University OB/GYN Residency and MFM Fellowship, as well as affiliations with the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, and Arizona State University. Physicians are encouraged to participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly work, particularly in areas like healthcare disparities and refugee women's health. Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level, specialized care in a consultation-focused MFM practice.
  • Focus on high-risk obstetric consultation, advanced ultrasound, and prenatal diagnostics.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary care planning.
  • Care for patients in both clinic and hospital settings.
  • Participate in shared home call coverage for VHMC and the Arizona Perinatal Program.
  • Practice at the full scope of consultative maternal-fetal medicine, including ultrasound, diagnostic testing, genetic counseling, and diabetes education.
  • Teach and mentor residents and fellows.
  • Engage in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly work.
