About The Position

We are seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine/Perinatology Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Wausau, WI. This role involves providing both inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage, as well as on-call duties. The physician will manage high-risk pregnancies, perform specialized procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires prompt documentation in the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• Board Eligible
• BLS certification
• Fellowship required
• Ability to manage high-risk pregnancies including PIH, HELLP syndrome, Diabetes (Type I, II, Gestational), Cardiac Disorders - Class II or higher, Pulmonary disorders, Renal Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Autoimmune disorders, Hematologic/Oncologic disorders, Collagen vascular disease
• Experience with VBAC's, Vaginal breech delivery, Placenta previa/abruption, Multiples gestation, Vaginal deliveries, C-sections, Instrument-assisted (forceps, vacuum, etc.)
• Proficiency in Amniocentesis-genetic, Cervical cerclage, Intrauterine transfusion, Multifetal pregnancy reduction
• Skilled in Ultrasounds: Performance of and interpretation (Level II/Targeted, Echocardiography, Fetal blood sampling)
• Experience with Chorionic villus sampling

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient clinic coverage Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm
• Take night and weekend call via beeper for phone consultations from the hospital (no on-site requirement)
• Manage high-risk pregnancies, including consultations, ultrasounds, and specialty procedures
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and utilize support staff (RNs, MAs, office staff) effectively
• Document all patient encounters and care plans promptly in Epic EMR
