About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a part-time, on-site Maternal Child Health Float RN at its Mount Holly location. The nurse floats among Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, and Special Care Nursery and is paid a bonus to float through Maternal Child Health. The role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As part of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and collaborates with colleagues, patients, and their families or significant others while maintaining high standards of professional ethics.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in Labor and Delivery or Special Care Nursery.
Valid New Jersey RN license, maintained in accordance with state licensing board requirements.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Maintain current nursing practice knowledge through ongoing education, journals, and similar resources.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Manage rapidly changing situations effectively.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient-safety principles.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance-improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families or significant others.
