About The Position

For this position, our preferred Supply Chain Inventory Specialist candidate shall assume responsibility for all aspects of warehouse material flow, maintain control and accuracy over all inventory, all transactions involving the warehouse including receiving and shipping. The position will have primary warehouse management responsibility for implementing and maintaining Navision WMS. The position will take direction from the Warehouse Manager. To be successful, the individual shall competently demonstrate sound judgement and discretion related to material and warehouse personnel management; federal and state compliance and application of defined administrative policy and procedure. Ultimately, the Inventory Specialist shall lead by example while encompassing characteristics of being courteous, professional, timely and efficient.

Requirements

  • BS degree in business management or equivalent career experience in manufacturing or construction related industries.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in material management ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Must possess strong Microsoft Office skills with ability to learn and utilize other systems.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative, multi-task, adapt to changes quickly in fast moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and then maintaining Navision WMS.
  • Serve as Navision WMS subject matter expert.
  • Develop and conduct warehouse and yard employee training regarding Navision WMS.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by managing and identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future. This will be accomplished through performance of weekly cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.
  • Assists in the coordination and work with operations and customer service to ensure 100% on-time delivery by monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Create reports to communicate inventory, shipping and receiving, and mat repair activity.
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound inventory accuracy and proper reporting in NAV WMS.
  • Verify inventory count accuracy against production lead and supervisor numbers.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Required to work overtime or weekends as requested or required.
  • Cross train within the department to provide additional coverage as needed.
  • All other duties assigned.
