About The Position

The Materials Specialist monitors inventory, primarily from U.S. ports to the HTGP plant, and replenishes on-site inventory from ports (Container Call) and warehouse locations as needed to ensure the availability of components to meet the production plan. This position is also responsible for preparing and distributing the daily assembly production plan to ensure the availability of finished goods. This position is responsible for inventory control, timely arrivals of containers, including logistics. This position also works to ensure compliance with USMCA requirements.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience in facilitation and/or instructional systems design
  • Ability to work with Assembly, Machining, PC and Materials departments on a daily basis to meet company goals.
  • Strong communication and people skills to work with all levels of Material departments in a team building manner.
  • Ability to multi-task at all times making quick, sound decisions on a day-to-days basis in a calm, confident manner.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors inventory from U.S. port to HTGP plant and replenishes on-site inventory from ports and warehouse locations.
  • Prepares and distributes daily assembly production plans.
  • Ensures inventory control and timely arrivals of containers, including logistics.
  • Ensures compliance with USMCA requirements.
  • Adheres to Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF16949), ISO 45001 policies and procedures.
  • Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy.
  • Strives to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Performs additional assignments/duties as required by management.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy.
  • Consistently meets company safety goals.
  • Determines incorrect ASN info & Invoice, BL document with HPT.
  • Explains package problem & package improvement request to HPT.
  • Assists with cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Compares actual inventory counts with the SAP system to minimize inventory inaccuracy and identify errors.
  • Forwards purchase costing information to Accounting and resolves payment issues.
  • Coordinates MRB product and OS&D area to process scrap and defective components.
  • Supports CTPAT compliance at HTGP and with subcontractors.
  • Takes responsibility for sending parts back to the supplier and maintaining data for receiving credits and calculating error frequency.
  • Assists with departmental continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency.
  • Gathers and analyzes data for continuous improvement projects, formulating reports and presentations.
  • Displays knowledge and skills necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Builds and sustains positive relationships and handles conflict effectively.
  • Maintains a pro-team member environment.
  • Understands and enforces a 5S philosophy.
  • Communicates with group leader, team leaders, team members, and management as required.
  • Works with Assembly, Machining, PC, and Materials departments daily.
