About The Position

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Receives, orders and issues equipment, materials and supplies. Reviews requisitions needed for inventory, checks shelves and systems for appropriate stock levels, keys data and maintains records of equipment, materials and supplies issued and/or returned. Verifies codes and description accuracy, keys data to update inventory in computer system, checks and records condition of equipment checked in or out, checks shipment for type, size, quantity, and damage and ensures specifications met. Notifies coordinator of order discrepancies, verifies and reviews packing slips for correctness, date, manufactures, shipper, item, and quantities received. Operates forklift to load, unload, remove, and store equipment, materials or supplies. Picks up parts from warehouse or yard, delivers parts, tools, and equipment to job site and maintains yard. Enters and updates inventory data and status using on-line computer, checks quantity of items visually and/or retrieves computer stock level balance, retrieves minimum order level from system. Conducts spot checks at regular intervals noting items, quantity, and code number for materials and supplies on hand. Takes inventory by counting materials and supplies on the grounds and in the warehouse as scheduled, records actual count per item during scheduled cycle counts and notifies warehouse coordinator of items needed. Marks and codes equipment, materials and supplies for inventory control, checks codes for correctness, maintains stock levels and fills stock boxes as needed. Updates inventory daily, enters equipment, materials and supplies issued and returned, obtains signatures for interdepartmental mail and packages and maintains records of receipt by the user departments. Maintains warehouse and yard areas clean, sweeps and mops warehouse floors, cleans dock, disposes of pallets, empties trash, disposes of metal recyclable materials and disposes of recyclable paper products in warehouse. Stocks and maintains janitorial closets. Keeps fittings and parts properly organized, stored and neat in warehouse, yard or warehouse area according to size, type and code number. Performs preventive maintenance checks and stacks and moves materials. Prepares and breaks down meeting rooms as needed. Delivers interoffice mail and packages, sorts interoffice mail and packages and tracks and maintains proof of delivery for interoffice mail and packages. Fuels company vehicles used as necessary (on site). Removes and maintains the recycled materials end processes. Maintains surplus building, moves and stores surplus material and orders needed inventory. Receives purchase orders when needed. Keys inventory issuances into system when needed and monitors and issues inventory. Participates in accuracy audits/counts. Conducts warehouse supplier evaluations. May be subject to emergency call-in and “on-call” rotation. Attends meetings, training, workshops, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills. Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.
