About The Position

The Materials & Distribution Technician performs varied essential materials, distribution, and logistics tasks within Materials Management in support of clinical activities across the medical complex. The role works under the direction of the Supply Chain Coordinator. The technician determines replenishment requirements; locates, selects, documents the issue of, and distributes medical supplies to hospital floor units; and documents receipt and distribution of supplies and equipment. The technician follows departmental and MUHA rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts, and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, shipping and receiving, physical inventories, and quality control checks.
• Computer literacy, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and email systems such as Outlook.
• Ability to learn Materials Management-related software and other related technology.

Nice To Haves

• Valid South Carolina driver's license.
