About The Position

The Material Handler performs material and inventory movements in support of manufacturing activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, yielding, loading and unloading trucks, restacking cartons, cycle counting, and special assignments. The role ensures materials are handled and transported safely and on time, and that system transactions and related documentation are completed accurately. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Starting pay is $20.20 per hour, plus a $0.95 shift differential.

Requirements

Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to perform basic counting and math.
Ability to stand for two-hour intervals with 15-minute breaks between intervals.
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and haul more than 100 pounds on a hand truck.
Ability and experience driving forklift equipment.

Nice To Haves

Experience using RedPrairie WMS and SAP ERP systems.
At least two years of progressive experience in a mixed-mode process/discrete manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Verify, count, and receive inventory using the Warehouse Management System, and copy and file receiving paperwork.
Put away inventory in the correct bin locations.
Pick material for shop orders and replenish production lines.
Load and unload trucks.
Count and process shop order material returns.
Count and yield production receipts.
Perform an average of 10 cycle counts per day.
Perform at least 12 LPN (License Plate) moves per hour.
Immediately report material shortages, discrepancies, or anomalies to the Materials Supervisor.
Complete required documentation and system transactions accurately and promptly.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
Perform related duties as requested by Materials Management Managers and Supervisors.
Proactively clean and maintain good housekeeping in the warehouse when appropriate.
