About The Position

TrueNorth Steel is hiring a Material Handler for its Coating Department at the West Fargo, North Dakota site. The role supports the general handling, movement, and loading of steel, including unloading inbound material, loading outbound material, and moving or distributing materials to fabrication areas. The handler uses equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers to move materials safely and efficiently. The position requires working in varied weather conditions, following company safety and quality requirements, communicating with team members, and maintaining dependable attendance. The stated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.; Friday overtime may be needed from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The pay rate is $23.46–$25.00+ per hour, depending on experience, with a full benefits package.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to efficiently and safely operate applicable material-handling equipment.
• Strong material-identification skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to read a tape measure in imperial and metric units.
• Ability to work with others.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
• Accountability, accuracy, honesty and integrity, initiative, and reliability.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience.
• Overhead crane experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle, move, load, unload, and distribute steel and other materials using applicable equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and similar equipment safely and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
• Follow company safety and quality requirements.
• Communicate with team members verbally and non-verbally.
• Work efficiently in wind, heat, cold, rain, snow, and other weather conditions.
• Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
• Maintain prompt and dependable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
