About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for understanding general warehouse layout, item identification codes, and warehouse procedures to efficiently place or pull paper stock, signatures, and materials according to standard procedures. This role involves reading the shipping schedule and following verbal instructions to identify necessary materials or components, and moving products in accordance with the shipping schedule. The position requires basic skill in using manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and hand tools for material handling tasks, including hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools, tape fasteners, and metal band shears.

Requirements

• 2 years of production/warehouse experience
• Ability to operate electrical jack and forklifts
• Attention to detail
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Good organizational skills
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interface with all departments
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs intermittently
• Able to push and pull manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, and hand trucks
• Normal vision
• Ability to be on their feet for 8 hours

Responsibilities

• Move products in accordance with the shipping schedule.

• Use tools such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools, tape fasteners, and metal band shears.
