Material Handler
About The Position
As a Material Handler, you will support production by loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are delivered safely and on time. The role contributes to delivering high-quality products to customers. The position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. It requires regular standing and walking, frequent use of hands for gripping and handling, and the ability to lift and carry materials up to 35 pounds. Duties may also involve bending, stooping, squatting, reaching overhead, crawling, climbing ladders, and working in elevated areas or confined spaces. Clear verbal communication and active listening are needed in a team environment.
Requirements
- Basic math and tape measurement skills.
- Comfort using computers and warehouse management systems.
- Experience operating forklifts or powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- Ability to understand basic measurements.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with truck body assembly or handling automotive components.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications for special orders.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and inspect incoming freight.
- Store and document materials accurately in designated locations.
- Deliver materials to the appropriate production areas in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts storage area.
- Read and interpret job orders, specifications, and labels.
- Perform safety and quality inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Follow safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous waste under company policies and legal regulations.
