About The Position

The purpose of the Material Handler II is to accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required. Requirements

  • Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to input data into computer system(s) in use
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as member of a team
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred
  • One (1 year or more related warehouse experience preferred)
  • One (1 year or more powered industrial lift experience preferred)
  • Powered industrial truck certification
  • Safety Sensitive Non-Regulated
  • Tech-Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
  • DOT Regulated No
  • Authorization to Work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Pull orders accurately as assigned.
  • Read, interpret and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
  • Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
  • Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
  • Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered
  • Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
  • Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
  • May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
